Asia Society

725 Park Ave.
New York, NY

A tour of Asia Society’s exhibition of the Zhang Peili work Continuous Reproduction followed by a private screening of two of his video works in the Museum’s collection, Go Ahead, Go Ahead and Scenic Outside the Window. Asia Society curator Michelle Yun and scholar Katherine Grube led a roundtable discussion on these works and Zhang Peili’s role as one of the leading artists from China who came of age during the social upheaval of the Cultural Revolution.

Michelle Yun is Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at Asia Society Museum where she oversees the museum’s initiatives in modern and contemporary visual art by Asian and Asian American artists. Appointed in 2012, Yun specializes in Chinese contemporary art and diaspora artists. Her recent exhibitions organized for the Asia Society Museum include a retrospective for the celebrated modernist painter Zao Wou-Ki, now on view through January 8, 2017.

Katherine Grube is a PhD candidate at New York University. She was a 2014 Fulbright Scholar at Peking University and the recipient of the 2013 Asia Art Archive-Robert H. N. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.
