Asia Art Archive in America hosted a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon in collaboration with Asia Art Archive, Hong Kong. The Edit-a-thon supported participants interested in editing Wikipedia to improve its coverage of women in the arts in Asia, and is part of an ongoing effort to contribute to discussions about the representation of women in open source knowledge platforms.

A tutorial for beginner Wikipedians introduced the session and experienced Wikipedians were available to help throughout. There were two main ways to contribute to the Edit-a-thon: improving existing articles and creating new ones. A list of suggested articles and topics were provided, and relevant reference books and online resources were made available. Participants brought their own laptops, power cords, and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. Further information is available on our Wikipedia Dashboard.
