Yokohama Triennale 2014: ART Fahrenheit 451: Sailing into the sea of oblivion (Guide Book)
The theme of the fifth Yokohama Triennale 2014 under the artistic direction of Yasumasa Morimura is Art Fahrenheit 451: Sailing into the Sea of Oblivion and features paintings, sculptures, photography, video works, installations and other works from 65 artists from Japan and abroad. Considering the idea of the world of lost books depicted in the science fiction novel Fahrenheit 451, the exhibit takes visitors into a “sea of oblivion” in order to have them remember the things that have been “forgotten” in our lives, by the human race and in modern times, crossing through this sea in the form of a book composed of an introduction and 11 chapters.
