Conversations: Twitter Chats, Social Media as Space for Critical Discourse and Art Practice
23 Sep 2014
6:00PM - 8:00PM
Exploring the intersection of contemporary arts and social media, the curatorial platform Post Meridiem (PMx) invites creative leaders, curators, and artists to participate in a series of short Twitter chats focused on their use of social media as a platform for critical dialogue and practice. PMx consecutively engages each speaker in a thirty-minute discussion about how their missions, visions, and ideas are converted, translated, and expressed through these dynamic network sharing sites.
Invited speakers include Jan Christian Bernabe (Operations, New Media, and Curatorial Director, Center for Art and Thoughts, Los Angeles, CA); Adriel Luis (Curator of Digital and Emerging Media, Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, Washington, DC); An Xiao Mina (Artist, Writer and Researcher, The Civic Beat, San Francisco Bay Area, CA); and Laura Kim (Artist, San Francisco Bay Area, CA).
Post Meridiem (PMx) is a collaborative curatorial project initiated by Patricia Cariño and Marie Martraire that explores the intersections between social media and contemporary arts through research, exhibitions, and other programs.
