Selections from the Sun Ten Collection—A Homecoming Celebration is organized jointly by the Taipei Cultural Center in New York and the Sun Ten Museum in Los Angeles. The exhibition, with 24 paintings spanning nearly a century by some of the most important Taiwanese artists, including Chen Cheng-po, Kuo Shue-whu, Chen Tsin, and Liao Chi-chun, will run from May 24 through June 2, 2019.
Honoring its namesake, the exhibition features selected works from the Sun Ten Museum founded by Dr. Hsu Hong-Yuan’s family after his passing. As Dr. Hsu viewed the collection of over 600 artworks as public assets of the Taiwanese people, the Museum pledged to donate it to the Ministry of Culture in September, 2018. Before the collection returns to its own land, we invite you to join us in celebrating the Hsu family’s generosity and the preeminence of the collection. The exhibition will be opened by Taiwan’s Minister of Culture, Cheng Li-Chiun.
Following the reception, at 7pm Mr. Chong-ray, Hsiao, Professor of Art History at National Cheng Kung University, and Mr. Fay-long, Chen, Director of the Sun Ten Museum, will talk about the history and significance of the collection in TECO-NY’s auditorium.
