We focus on cultural issues in the small community that has been created typically in the big city, where inevitable impacts are compounded. Identification as “Hakka” is more valuable, given the profound and ever-present opposition between remaining faithful to tradition and adapting to the circumstances of the enveloping milieu. The subject of Urban Hakka Tribes is a portion of the urgent topic of movement of people in the era of globalization. A dilemma faced on many continents, it reveals potential crises in the political, economic, and cultural arenas.
