In CBA’s Main Gallery, The Space Between Words: Other Ways of Reading brings together Aarati Akkapeddi, Valentina Améstica, Rujuta Rao, Audra Wolowiec and Kyung Eun You, presenting works created in the studios at Center for Book Arts, each reimagining what it means to read, to publish, and to engage with the book as an evolving, living form. Across print, code, sound, textile, and performance, these works inhabit the margins, silences, and gestures that traditional forms often overlook.

The second exhibition, in CBA’s printshop gallery, explores Fandangos, an artist-led magazine-newspaper founded by artists in the Netherlands, in 1973. What began as a playful and provocative communication experiment—part game, part pamphlet—became a cornerstone of self-published artist media and a vital archival document which captures the pulse of 1970s artistic practices in Europe. Fandangos: The Most Important European Art Scandalpaper! presents issues one through eight of Fandangos, and marks the first time in more than 45 years that these issues are shown together.
