The articles in this book were originally published in the Artistmagazine from June 1976 to December 1977. The first edition of the book, published in 1978, is a collection of the articles with revisions. The present three copies are the editions from 1992, 1998 and 2011 respectively. The book focuses on the art history of Taiwan from 1895 to 1945, during which Taiwan was under the Japanese occupation.
