AAAinA is pleased to announce an off-site program with artists Ami Lien and Carissa Rodriguez hosted at MoMA PS1 on Friday, February 14th at 4 – 5:30pm. The tour will include a walkthrough of the exhibition, Offerings for Escalante, followed by a conversation between Lien and Rodriguez at the collaborative exhibition portion of the larger show. Offerings for Escalante shares the works of artist duo Ami Lien and Enzo Camacho and is their first major U.S museum exhibition.
Included in the exhibition is a newly commissioned long-form film, Langit Lupa, which draws upon survivor testimonials to narrate the story of the 1985 Escalante Massacre, a tragic incident of state violence against a mass protest in Negros under the Ferdinand Marcos dictatorship. For those of you who are available, we recommend arriving at the museum at 3pm to view the film prior to the walkthrough. The film has a run time of 56 minutes and begins on the hour.
