About the “Yellow Peril” films:

These two short films (35 min total run time) employ the five elements in traditional Chinese medicine as a metaphor to explore queer Asian diasporic identity through the narrative lens of Maiden China, a Vancouver-based intersectional feminist drag artist. The creators reflect on making art in response to anti-Asian racism, post-pandemic healing, and making room for joy through humour and love.
